EMT-Basic

The EMT-Basic course is designed to prepare the student to function as an integral part of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) community.

During the training period, students will be exposed to intense training and a skills-based approach to the EMT-B education. Candidates will be trained in all aspects of EMT-B emergency care including, but not limited to: airway management, patient assessment, OB/GYN, traumatic and medical emergencies. Students will also have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience while completing field clinicals at sites including fire departments and hospitals.

The course is instructed by Chris Thomas, Director of EMS for the Sugar Creek Fire Department.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will gain certification in: Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, CPR/AED (if not already certified), Hazardous Materials Awareness, and EMT certification (upon successful completion of State tests).

Class Information

Begins: January 22, 2012

Sundays 9a-5p  and Wednesdays 6p-10p

Course Fee: $395.00

Registration Deadline is December 15, 2011.
